"OF ACHIEVERS, LEADERS AND ORDINARY MEN" ~ Part 1

History if full of compelling stories that center around the epic struggles between men. To this very day, these same encounters and conflicts are waged between competing families, neighbors, corporations and even nations.

One such story is the provocative tale of twin brothers, the younger brother successfully tricking the older out of his fathers blessing and natural birthright. Without question, the reader's heart is spontaneously compelled to Esau, who diligently is out hunting to fix his weakening father a hearty meal. In Esau's absence, the younger Jacob quickly disguises himself as his older brother and presents himself to his dieing father who promptly bestows his patriarchal blessing and inheritance upon the opportunistic boy.

After many, many years the brothers would meet again. Esau, a man of the sword and valiant fighter had once vowed to spill his brother's blood. What transpired at this chance meeting? What would become of the vast riches of Jacob? What was it that made Esau and Jacob so different? What did it mean when one brother would say; "I have all" and the other; "I have enough"? And finally, what is this story's relevance to us today? All good questions, and ones that we will ponder in the next few days.
