2 KEYS TO BUSINESS SUCCESS

I have been of the good fortune to have met and worked with many very successful businessmen and women over the years. "What is the key to success?" is the question I am so often asked. There are many, many factors that play a role in business and personal success, but from my observation, today's 2 principles are unmistakably very important; 

1) PATIENCE AND COMMITMENT FOR THE LONG-HAUL! Clearly success and riches don't appear overnight, but most often come only from dedication to hard work over a extended period, most often with little or no reward along the way. 

2) LISTENING AND LEARNING FROM THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN THERE BEFORE! Surrounding ourselves, listening, observing and taking notes from those that have achieved success is the quickest way to for us to learn and apply the wisdom and knowledge of others.

The story of Dr. Neil Alan Scott is a good example, having worked 17 long years on his cellular phone company. "Success is often the result of diligent commitment and hard work," says the Doc, "with very little return along the way, but eventually it paid off when we sold to Verizon in 2001 for $118 million." This week we will be speaking with the "Doc", a good opportunity for us to listen and learn from someone who has the track record of success.
